Fashion Takes Flight

Nominated for the Golden Globes, Black Swan is sending a chill up everyone's spine including fashionistas who are in a flutter over the dark and chilling outfits. Costume designer Amy Westcott teamed up with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create sultry yet majestic ballerina looks. 


This spring, the New York Times is forecasting feathered tutus and dark cobwebby knits inspired by this critically acclaimed film. Designers like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Sarah Burton for McQueen, and J. Mendel got in touch with their darker side with poofy skirts and shredded sheers. Forget the Past and Fast Forward to the Future

Why dwell on the past when there is so much to look forward to in 2011? Instead of recapping the best looks from 2010, we're looking ahead to see what's in store for spring 2011.

Get ready for brights, prints, and short dresses. Citrus was a favorite on the runways for Missoni and Prabal Gurung who used block coloring. Go geometric and contrast this hue with a sea blue.



Prints are still in, but the florals are more exotic with an Asian feel. If you want to go printed, pick a simple style so it's not over the top or pair it with basics.





Whether they're solid and bright or sheer and lacey, you can always manage to look put together in a mini dress with its simple cut. Pair them with sparkly flats or chunky heels.
